David Ashe for Congress Campaign!

Dear Friend,

I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. Like thousands of supporters across Virginia, I spent 13 hours at the polls on November 8 to help ensure voters knew that Governor-Elect Tim Kaine fights for working families. Over the last year, I have put my resources to work hosting multiple events for Tim Kaine and the strong candidates on the ballot with him. The ability to have been a small part of the victory is an enormous source of pride for all of us. And, it sets the tone for what we’ll accomplish together in 2006.

We enter into a joyous holiday season knowing that we are assured a strong governor. However, we will continue to lack the representation in Congress we need to keep Virginia strong. This is among the reasons I am running for Congress.

In our 2004 campaign, I learned that I must continue to speak out on issues that matter most to families ??? the escalating cost of health care, the transportation crisis, port security and American jobs going overseas. My opponent, however, would have you believe that our most pressing issue is to re-direct millions of taxpayer dollars to provide Pat Robertson an exit ramp on Interstate 64.

While I patrolled the streets of Iraq with my battalion in Iraq, my opponent was fighting tooth-and-nail to stop the successes of Governor Warner and Governor-Elect Kaine. And since her arrival in Congress, she has carried on with her pattern of free-lunch-spending and she continues to fight enthusiastically to bring government control into our personal lives.

Unless I focus razor-sharp attention on these issues, families in the 2nd District will continue to suffer with an out-of-touch representative in Congress.

The news, the events, the thrills, the pride and the many things that made you want to be a part of this campaign are underway. My dedication to you and to Virginia’s critical issues has never stopped, my door-knocking, fundraising and hard work have begun again and I will not stop until we win in Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District in November 2006.

I am already approaching my first critical deadline ??? December 31st.

I ask for your help today. Before you close this email, I need a few minutes of your time. Please take a moment to visit the website to contribute. You are among thousands of supporters to have contributed time, talent and treasure to our campaign. Imagine your contribution today multiplied by thousands; that is the kind of strength that symbolizes proud Democrats.

I hope you and your families begin the holiday season with good cheer. Thank you again for your friendship and support.

Semper Fidelis,
David Ashe
